Outlander Workshop Manual:35. Service Brakes

Service Brakes group of Mitsubishi Outlander service manual consists the following subgroups: Basic Brake System (35A) and Anti-Skid Braking System/ABS (35B).

Outlander avails ventilated disc floating caliper 2 piston on the rear and front brake system, the rear wheel itself is controlled by electronic brake force distribution (EBD) to help reduce vehicle stopping distance as well as to maintain car's stability. The basic brake system sub group deals with check and adjustment of brake pedal, brake booster, disc brake pad, disc brake rotor. It also gives tips on checking the brake fluid level, brake oil bleeding, brake pedal removal, master cylinder+brake booster assy, front disc brake + rear disc brake assembly.

ABS attached within Outlander uses the same system as Colt/ Lancer 4WD that are equipped with G-sensor and has these features: EBC (Electronic Brake force Distribution), Fail Safe function, diagnostic function. Construction diagram of the ABS is as follows: Hydraulic unit and ABS-ECU, Diagnosis connector, stop lamp & switch, ABS rotor, ABS sensor and G sensor.
